Concordia University Texas School of Ministry

Benjamin Swafford
Benjamin Swafford

I went to Concordia Texas because it felt like home, like family. The Religious Ed. Program at CTX not only prepared me for a life in professional ministry, but our professors also taught us to never become stagnant. What’s one amazing way that CTX does that? The professors become more than mentors, they become family, and after graduation, colleagues. I have bounced ideas off of and collected resources from a number of professors since I graduated; because they care about how you will change the world.

Dr. Grant Carey

The Religious Education program at Concordia is designed to be a well-rounded education with classes based in communication, theology, psychology, education, and practical ministry. Students will leave equipped for their calling in life, and because of this holistic approach, students are prepared to take on a variety of vocations in churches, non-profits, service institutions, and schools. At Concordia, we strive to go deep theologically, as well as giving students many opportunities to “try-out” all sorts of hands experience through field work in local congregations and community.
