National Decision Day: A Texas-Style Welcome Home at Concordia Texas

National Decision Day isn’t just a visit - it’s a ‘welcome home’. From the moment students and families arrive, we want them to feel what this campus embodies – warmth, hospitality, and a place for them to belong. And what better way to do that than by focusing on our southern roots! Not only does Texas culture value hospitality and community, but so does Concordia Texas.
Welcome Home, Y’all: Setting the Tone for the Day
From the ‘Welcome Home, Y’all’ sign they will see when they first arrive, to relaxing spaces to enjoy community and develop friendships, this event will focus on the welcoming and accepting spirit of the school.
Food, Fellowship, and Front Porch Conversations
Students and families are encouraged to make connections, explore the campus, and enjoy some good Ole Texas BBQ. Great food equals great conversations!
In our Hospitali-Tea space, families will be able to enjoy delicious, cold sweet tea and a comfortable place to rest and find relief from the Texas heat. But it is also a space where they can pull up a chair and have ‘front porch’ conversations with our President, Dr. Kristi Kirk.
Meet the CTX Community: Clubs, Faculty, and Staff
Our Clubs and Orgs will be present throughout the day, and students will get the opportunity to speak with Admissions Counselors and many faculty and staff. There will also be many photo opportunities, as well as a signing table where cowbells will be rung and cheers will be shouted for every student who commits to Concordia Texas.
Fun for the Whole Family at National Decision Day
But the fun doesn’t stop there! The activities happening throughout the day will encourage families to get involved and have some fun. Some of those activities include Musical Bingo, Line Dancing, and many games at our Sports Court. There is something for everyone!
A Warm Concordia Texas Welcome
National Decision Day is a day to celebrate and welcome new students, families, and supporters into the CTX community. It is a day to highlight what it means to be a part of the Concordia Texas community and a chance for all of us to represent the school we love.
So, come pull up a chair, grab a cowbell, and be a part of the Texas-styled welcome! We’ve saved you a seat.

She manages events for the Admissions Department and creates spaces designed to welcome prospective students and their families.
