5 Tips to Make the Most of Your Senior Year

Senior year is finally here! You’ve worked hard to get to this point, and there is a lot to look forward to over the next several months. Between classes, college applications, football games, homecoming, graduation plans, and everything else happening in between, the year can go by quickly.
I know there is a lot to keep up with during senior year, and adding college applications to the list can sometimes feel overwhelming. My biggest advice is to take it one step at a time and ask for help when you need it. Here are a few tips to help!
1. Start Your College Applications Early
You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going to college before you start applying. Getting your applications completed early gives you more time to focus on scholarships, financial aid, campus visits, and ultimately deciding which school feels right for you.
And remember, you don’t have to figure out the application process by yourself. If you have a question about what you need to submit, reach out to your admissions counselor. We’re happy to help!
2. Visit the Schools on Your List
A college can look great online, but visiting campus can tell you so much more. While you’re there, think about whether you can really picture yourself as a student on that campus. Can you see yourself walking to class, meeting new people, and becoming part of the community?
If Concordia University Texas is on your list, I’d love for you to come see us in Austin and experience campus for yourself.

3. Ask Questions, Even the Small Ones
There really is no such thing as a bad question during the college search. Ask about majors, scholarships, housing, financial aid, student life, or anything else that matters to you.
Your admissions counselor is there as a resource, so use us! Sometimes a quick email or conversation can make something that feels confusing much easier.
4. Stay Organized
Senior year comes with a lot of important dates, from college application deadlines to scholarship opportunities, financial aid, and graduation requirements. Keeping everything in one place can make the process feel much more manageable.
Use a calendar, notes app, planner, or whatever works best for you. Write down deadlines as soon as you learn about them and give yourself a little extra time whenever you can.
Staying organized now can save you from a lot of last-minute stress later.
5. Enjoy Your Senior Year
With so much focus on what comes after graduation, don’t forget to enjoy where you are right now. Go to the game. Take pictures with your friends. Celebrate the milestones. Spend time with the people who have been part of your high school experience.
College is an exciting next chapter, but you only get one senior year.
As you start thinking about what comes next, know that the Concordia Texas Admissions team is here to answer your questions and help you through the process. When you’re ready, take the next step and apply to Concordia University Texas. We’d love to get to know you!
