Gather with Campus Ministry and Grow with Jesus
Campus Ministry serves the students, faculty, and staff of Concordia University Texas, by inviting all to a vibrant spiritual life with Christian theological grounding.
- Gather in community to worship
- Grow in a Christ-centered faith
- Go on mission through service, trips or future work
No matter who you are, what you believe, how much you know about God or the Bible, or what you have done, we want you to know:
YOU BELONG HERE. Join us.
The love of God is for you. The gift of a personal relationship with God is free. Leaders in Campus Ministry at Concordia walk alongside you and serve you wholeheartedly so that you might meet, know and follow the one who has changed our lives forever, Jesus.
Campus Ministry is for All
We are a passionate group of people who follow the teachings and unforced rhythms of grace given by Jesus. The adventure of faith, learning, and life-changing experiences leads to meaningful work. During your time at Concordia, you can be formed into who God desires us to become through the following experiences.

Chapel
Chapel services at Concordia gather students, faculty, staff, and alumni from various ethnicities, nationalities, languages, cultures, socioeconomic statuses, and theological and liturgical convictions. Chapels are Christ-centered, informed by a Lutheran interpretation of Scripture, and focused on giving glory to Jesus. Christ is honored, and all are welcome.
Chapels are offered three times a week on MWF @ 10 am. Monday and Wednesday will be held in the Chapel in the Welcome Center (Building A). Friday Chapel is in the Center for Faith and Belonging in Building F.

Refuge
Refuge is a student-led worship community once a week on Thursdays @ 9 pm in the Chapel in The Welcome Center (Building A) in the fall and spring semesters.
Life Groups are formed through Refuge but are available to all students. Connect with Campus Ministry Team to get the schedule of group meetings.
The refuge name comes from Psalm 9:9, “The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”

Pastoral Counseling, Spiritual Care & Resources
For pastoral counseling, spiritual care, someone to pray with, and encouragement, please contact our team so we can better assist you. Text Steve Fick at 512.695.2087 or come by our Campus Ministry offices in the second floor of Building C.
Students and community members experiencing an emergency should contact Emergency Resources, seek medical care when necessary, and please let us know how we can pray for you.
The Campus Ministry Team at Concordia wants to pray for and encourage you throughout your college journey. College can be a tough and lonely, but we create community to ease your time. Let us help you build lifelong friendships. We want to be one of the first new friends you meet.
Campus Ministry Team-
What if I’m not a Christian?
You belong. You are loved. You are welcome to learn and grow with us at Concordia Texas.
-
Is chapel really for me?
Yes! We know you will benefit from these gatherings and hope you will join us sometime soon.
-
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably, casually, and be yourself. However you normally dress, we expect you to come dressed for us to experience the authentic you.
-
Where should I sit?
We want you to feel comfortable. Sit in the back, middle, front, back, sit, stand, or lay on the ground (ok, that might be too far). Please don’t be offended if we come to say hi or hi-five you at the door. Our goal is to make you feel loved and known.
-
What goes on during chapel?
We will most likely sing, hear a reading from God’s Word, and a trained speaker breaking God’s Word down into simple lessons that can apply to your life. We will spend time praying too. Our goal is to keep the experience to 25 minutes total.
-
What goes on during Refuge?
Student leaders plan an evening of Bible Study, worship and fun. Check it out on Thursdays at 9 pm.
-
What is #PackTheHouse Wednesdays?
Pack The House is exactly that! We want everyone to join us for chapel service, especially on Wednesdays.
Before and after chapel on Wednesdays, we offer snacks and drinks for us all to build community and connection.
-
Can I join a Life Group?
Life Groups are small groups where students grow together in discipleship. Ask the campus ministry team to be connected to a Life Group.
-
Can I support Concordia Texas Campus Ministry?
Your generous support will help students learn about the love of God while at Concordia Texas. Financial gifts help fund the Called to Lead Scholarship for ministry students and GO Mission Trips along with food and supplies for chapel and Refuge.
